Hi Rowan,
very interesting! Thanks for sharing...
Hmmm, Ark models? I don't know that brand. Where are they from? Russia? The kit looks a lot like a UniModel kit...
Jean-Luc
P.S. it's written on the box cover... it's from Russia...

Hi Jean-Luc
Yes, there're produced in Russia. I bought ARK's MiG-3 recently and it's a re-release of the old ICM kit, but I don't know the background of these Hurricanes. I've just ordered them from Modelimex to take a proper look.
All the best

I agree with Jean-Luc that they look very Unimodel. I really liked Unimodel's 109G6/R3 too.
Not many 48th Hurricane MK1's out there either so I've ordered one up instead of the usual Hasegawa route.
I look forward to your review Rowan.
Thanks
Howard

Hi Howard
I agree too - that clear instrument panel is very reminiscent of the Unimodel Bf 109G. Interestingly, I spotted some Sea Hurricane parts tucked in there too - hopefully Hurricane fans are in for treat!

Ooooooooo Sea Hurricane, that could be cool. I'm hoping (maybe optimisticly) that this will be a great kit and spawn more versions including the Hurribomber.
Thanks again
Howard

I've just been looking into the markings for the kit and they appear to be (rather brilliantly) V6555 of Robert Stanford Tuck and V7467 of Douglas Bader.
Seems "Ace" builders will have a difficult choice!
RST for me I think though

Hi Howard
"Rather brilliantly"... I take it that means ARK haven't quite got the dull RAF colours right?! I'll get my shades ready for the kits' arrival.
All the best

I received my Hurricane yesterday.
Certainly a short run kit isn't it? Instructions are very basic and no colour call outs at all!
Looks like fun although I reckon it'll need some work on the fuselage. Think one side is slightly longer than the other
Rowan: Granted the RAF wasn't the most imaginative with their colours but I still think the decal options are nice

Hi Howard
Yours was like my ones then! The Review's blocked out and the photos uploaded - I just need to do some final checks and should be able to publish tonight or tomorrow.
All the best

Cool, I look forward to the review then.
I loved the packaging for the decals very erm...original lol
Might well make a start on mine in a day or two just to see how it builds up.
Howard
Edit, Do you think now you have the kit in the plastic that they are more similar to an Alanger kit than the Unimodel kits we talked about earlier in the thread?

Hi again
It seems a bit of a mixture - the clear parts definetly seem like Unimodel (in one of my kits, the canopy is semi-opaque...), but the main parts have a smoother finish than my Bf 109G - then again, the pilot figures seem like ICM. I wonder if the separate brands are all part of one group?
All the best

Yeah, bet your right there mate. My canopy is a little opaque too.
Anyway I'll leave you alone now and wait for the review.
Thanks Rowan
