It's quite good but is basically the old Monogram kit. If you prefer engraved panel lines then Hasegawa's F-4C and F-4D are the main alternatives, but the general view is that Monogram's kits are superior in some ways, such as the cockpit. Both Monogram and Hasegawa also offer the F-4E, which worked extensively in Vietnam, and Hasegawa also do the RF-4C. Not all of these kits wil be in production at the moment but hey, that's what eBay's for!

Then, in addition to the F-4C/D/E, you've got the USN/USMC F-4Bs and F-4Js. Hasegawa did the "B" model in 1/48th. Hasegawa and Monogram both did J versions as well. I'd pass on the Testors/Italeri/ESCI kits in favor of the Hasegawa/Monogram versions.

Sorry for forgetting all the naval variants .. I just assumed you were after USAF. Anyway, funnily enough, there does seem to be a shortage of Hasegawa Phantoms at the moment, and a glut of Revell F-4C/Ds. But there's this:

or this:

or even this:

Those last two would need new decals but they should contain everything you need for a Vietnam Phantom. You can double-check what's in what box by going to http://www.modelingmadness.com/splfeat/kr/has48d.htm.

Good luck!
