Here's a build feature by Panagiotis Trikasoulas (PanosT) of Arii's 1/48 scale Ki-44 "Shoki". The very convincing weathering was achieved by using the salt paint chipping technique.

Nice job! It shows just how good the old Arii kit can look in skilled hands! I'm particularly impressed the way you've managed to get the decals to match the rest of the weathering - at first I thought you must have painted the markings.

Really nice. I am always afraid to weather my aircraft because I don't know how much is to little or how much is to much? The underside of the KI-44 sure has the weathering on it. I would like to see more. Looks great. Russell.
