It fell together ... I decided to ditch the pre-shading, and instead washed the panel lines with Humbrol enamel and white spirit after decalling.
Paints are Gunze on the upper surfaces and Modelmaster enamel for the Azure Blue.
I'm much happier with this one and hope I might be getting the hang of these quarter-scale kits now.
The only thing I know I should have done is the antennae wire but I'm fighting shy of that at the moment cos I don't want to get globs of superglue all over the model. Any hints on the best way to handle it gratefully received.
