hi there guys

I havnt done plane models for quite some time so i thought id get back into it. i picked up the airfix curtiss p40e kittyhawk and have noticed the proppellers 1 of them is smaller than the other two. i dunno if this is a default in factory process moulding or whether it should be like that ??

does anyone have any pictures of the landing gear structure and the payload clamp arms or what thay may be called =p

cheers for all help in advance

Hello Anthony -

Glad to hear you are trying an aircraft! I like to switch subjects myself from time to time - variety is the spice of life!

In regards to the Airfix P-40E. It's an oldie -- at least a 40 year old kit. I think you must have come across one where the molding didn't take. I'm not sure if it's an option or not, but perhaps you could bring it back to the place where you purchased it and show them the flaw.

The Airfix kit was good in it's day, but has since been eclipsed by the Hasegawa and now the Academy P-40E. Recessed panel lines as well as better clear parts make them a better choice if possible.

As for reference phots - try here:

Hope this helps..!
