I need a little advice, I'm working on a Dragon 1/32nd scale Mustang. I've already filled panel lines, etc. but now I have a question. Were Mustangs actually armed with the rockets that come with the kit? They look nice, but I want an 8th or 9th Air Force P-51, and these rockets appear to be HVARs, nad I have my doubts about how widespread their use was in Europe, especially in the 8th AF.

I think you're right, for 8th AF, I'd leave off the rockets.

I agree with Don. No rockets for the P-51 in 8th air force markings. I built at 1/72 scale P-47M about four years ago and it came with rockets too. After some research on the internet I found that the P-47M's were used exclusivlely for escort or hunting out German fighters and never carried rockets. I am not sure why some manufacturers include stores not needed, it can just be confusing at best. Hope this helps. Russell.
