I'm about to start the painting phase for my Tamiya FW-190 and wanted to get suggestions on painting the tires. What is a good choice or mix for painting the rubber portion of the tires?

I normally use Tamiya NATO black for tyres. Its a very dark grey.

panzer grey....sometimes with a touch of brown if most everything is grey to help contrast the rubber from the painted/metal shades.

I usually use Model Master Enamel Rubber #1183 for WW2 aircraft, especially none US as the vulcanizing was different.

I use WEM tyre black ,which is actually a dark grey, then drybrush high/lowlights on the tread (when there is one) or walls.
From the previous responses I think there is a consensus that a grey ,rather than black,is the way to go!

Thx to all for you replies .. I think I'm now heading in the right direction ..as it was mentioned before, dark grey seems to be the consensus.
