Nice, it almost makes me regret trading my 1/48 scale Monogram Chippy Ho F/A-18 for a DML M4A4...almost.

You know Bryan, for a model that's missing tracks or a big gun, it looks pretty darn cool. PDC!!! New avatar too...he must be looking up at that F -18.
Nice job! :-)
What's next? A Hellcat...the tracked one? lol
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Rob, deep down you probably have a deep rooted desire to build that plane.
Ken, Jim found that avatar for me. Kinda looks like one of the guys from BlackSheep Squadron...lol!

Nice F-18! Now I really want to build a model to show to y'all! I assume that an airbrush was used for those cool looking dark smudges?
Rob, a 'Chippy Ho F/A 18'? Heh heh, that's a funny name...

Bryan,
Good job, it looks great. And the pics came out great!
What's next on the project list?
You know I was thinking after seeing that base your were shooting on in some of the other pics you sent me,
it would be cool for aircraft to build a "photo-shoot" base board complete with cement cracks, grass in
the seams, and weathering. That way you could shoot your different aircraft on them and get some really
cool shots. Especially if you were able to shoot outdoors with a blue sky background (with a few clouds for effect).

Thanks for all the comments.
Jim, I agree with the reusable base for pics. There was an article in FSM a couple issues ago (I think the 20th anniv. issue) about how to make bases. I attempted one in those pics you saw and it looks ok but not realistic in my opinion. For the article I'll be writing I'm going to take the white base I have and the model to the Naval Air Station down the road and get some pics with other planes in the background.
Ron, the kit is the 1/48 AMT/ERTL F-18A. Based on my experience building this kit, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to build. Spend the money on the Hasegawa or Tamiya kits. All the problems I had will be spelled out in the upcoming article. If you want a kit to really practice on and to hone your skills then pick it up.
