I folks, new to the forum{WWII}...I'd like some imput on 5 new {to me} kits and what can be made better of them. {aftermarket pieces}
- 1/32 Revell RF-4b phantom II
- 1/32 Revell ME 262B-1a two seater
- 1/32 Matchbox SBD-5
- 1/32 Matchbox Lysander
- 1/24 Airfix FW-190A/F
...a LHS/flower shop closed out thier model section and these were 40% off a good price to begin with.....I had to get them.
I know these are old kits and the detail is margonal, but what are my options aside from out-of-the-box builds.

I would check out the eduard website for some photoetch; squadron hobby for same plus decals, resin parts, etc. Some of the detailing you can do with a little scratchbuilding, so get some reference material. There is a lot available on the internet, so google the aircraft and take a look. As far as the accuracy, I'm in the boat with you. I generally do not know what the degree of accuracy is until I look at some references and then compare on the model what I see in the photos. The "walk around" series and "detail and scale" books are good...available in the U.S. from some hobby shops and Squadron Hobby. Also, there are a lot of really fine people on this website that are great authorities on specific aircraft or groups of aircraft. Do not be afraid to ask. Show some pictures of what you have questions about, if possible. This might provide a little help; hope so.
Thanks,
Matt
