I've Googled the Sea Fury, and I'm unable to locate any cockpit interior photos. My own references also fail to describe cockpit color and details.

Would anyone know what the interior sidewall and seat colors were on the Hawker Sea Fury? Does anyone know of a link or have a photo they could please post?

Thankyou. Guy

With a quick googling I found this: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/seafury.html
Looks like the usual black of the Fleet Air Army aircraft of that era. Note how the captions mention the cockpit instruments & panel not being standard ones.

I also found a line drawing of the cockpit with parts and details labelled.

I hope these are of help.

In common with most FAA a/c of the time, everything was black, since (probably) night flying was part of the normal duties. Post-war harnesses, which were very similar to parachute harnesses, seem to have been a mid-blue, probably to contrast with the usual white of the parachute harness. If you're doing a FAA Sea Fury, by the way, the wheel wells, wing-folds, gunbay interiors, etc., were zinc chromate yellow. When the Sea Fury went to Canada and Australia, overpainting occurred, so anything could (and apparently did) happen.

Thankyou very much for the replies and info. It really made my day.

I have four short day's off, and was hoping to get out of the cockpit before it's back to work.

Thankyou
