Hi
Does anybody have, or know where to find pics of ww2 bombers undergoing repairs on site? For example replacing flakdamaged pieces of aluminum panels on the tail or wings?
I want to create such a scene with a 1/48 A-26 B invader, but I have no idea on what I can put on the diorama to make it look like it's not just a damaged plane standing there, but one that is actually undergoing repairs (with pieces of ripped aluminum already removed and lying on the ground, and some other sections already replaced by shiny brand new ones.
I also need some help and info on paint touch-ups in the field. I have severely weathered my black Invader (paintchipping) , and I want to make it look like some piece (like one wing) is already touched up. Would this have actually been done in the field? And would this be done by paintbucket and brush, or by some sort of airbrush? And how can I make it understandable at first glance to the viewer that it's not my bad paintskills which one is viewing, but actually the hurry-hurry paintskills of a fieldmechanic?
many thanks for your assistance
pics of the invader will follow...
