Can anyone tell me whether this is a reboxing of the Hasegawa Ju87D? This is a fair bit cheaper...

Hi Warren
What Scale? revell Germany or USA? Box No.?
If we talk about 48 scale: Revellogram had an own tool that is pretty old aalready. i am not sure if it belongs to the "golden aera" (whith pretty good shapes but raised panel lines and some tricky building characteristics). OTOH I cannot remember RoG having re-issued a Hasegawa D .. the Ju 87B for sure, but the D??
all the best

Nick, that is wrong!
It was released in late 2007/early 2008 and is a Hasegawa tool .. totally forgot it, but probably because it is just not my scale.
Warren if you are not sure far any Revell oG model, just have a look at the box it somewhere says "made in Japan" (probably near the bar code) which is a pretty good indicator it is an original Hasegawa tool.
all the best

Hi Nick
I was not not trying to upset you, sorry if I did. Of course the Hasegawa tool is pretty new and Revell does just some reboxing for Europe.
When we say Hasegawa tool it is probably from the big shop in Korea who has also done tools for Revell or AccMin. Sadly this company is also high end in the price, so Revell tried to find other possibilities from the late 90ies onwards. E.g. for me the Ju52 is still one of the nicest models ever done. Also the Do 217, Rafale or Sabredog are from this tool maker for Revell.
cheers
Steffen
P.S. As for reviews .. nobody knows everything. I have read many wrong statements and I surely also have written quite a few. Sometimes people make mistakes and sometimes they just do not know better. I just read a review of the new 1/24 Trabant from Revell which is impossible as this will be new tool and it is not done yet (we would have gotten test shots ... or at least info) ... someone just reviewed the old kit wich is more or less a joke ....

Thanks all.
Either way, for the price I can get it for I am going to get one! Revell means good value, much better than Hasegawa!
Regards

Good luck with your very nice P-40 Burma Banshee
For the Ju-52 Revell's (monogram) 1/48 is greeeat it i 've got it.
It has 4 fallschrimjager (paratroopers) figures and great detail.
(But I'll buy CMK detail sets for interior and extrerior )
Cheers Nick

Hi Nick
that's good! and many thanks for the wishes!
I have 4 or 5 1/48 Revell Ju 52 (one of each issue and IIRC I have two of the first one). I started one when it first came out but as you I bought a lot of stuff for it ... too much actually and thus I lost motivation.
I try to get into some building mood with my single engined projects and maybe I can start one of my Ju's .. I really like the ZG 26 schemes from the last military boxing and I am also a big fan of Görings red MvR machine. Sadly for this crate I need to do some research ... at least I have the decals now (new boxing from this year)
all the best

Hi Warren, yes it is a re-box,i bought the Hasegawa JU 87G when it first came out,the Revell boxing is for a straight bomb armed example with a new decal sheet.
In it`s defence,it is a damn fine model. What a pity Revell does`nt apply itself to doing a new B model, the old one is an absolute dog and the 21st Century toys one is far too much like a toy to be taken seriously.

Agree 100% Danny about the old B model. If it is like their Mosquito, which I have put aside for a year or two before I get the courage up to start it again, then it will be woeful!
Now I just have to fins another one at a good price on Ebay.. LHS want AUD$99 for it, whereas I can get it to my door for less than that with EvilBay.
