Just thought I'd share a find I made on the 'net. While searching for info on the Lancaster I/III I happened on a Haynes "owners manual", for those who are unfamiliar with Haynes manuals they're DIY manuals for repairing cars and trucks. They're well worth their price. For anyone who is highly motivated to do serious scratch building this book would definitely be a huge help. Haynes also has given the Spitfire the same treatment.

Yup. I've got the Spitfire one. Lots of pics from field repars, stripdowns and also modern maintenance of the planes we see flying today. You also get an input of the amount work you have to put in to get a 60-odd years old airplane airworthy and approved.
