here i have a small offering...
My Dr.I dual combo, there not perfect by any means as there are a couple of bits missing off both and not much in the way of weathering but i learnt alot making them. My biggest errors were not building them in sections and not drilling the holes for the rigging...i wont make those mistakes again
all paints are vallejo.

Very nice Paul!

Did you change the u/c? . .. I still did not fully get what the problem with the Eduard kit is .... yours look really good and MvR and Adolf Ritter von Tutschek are sure nice subjects (though I prefer LvR on the Tripe )

all the best

hi steffen,
the eduard undercarridge struts are too long by about 2 mm and yes i did cut them down.
i will build a LvR at some point as i have 4 dual kits on the shelf

Nice work Paul. Every build helps you fine tune the skills to achieve the kind of consistancy you look for in your builds. I know it has for me. Tell us more about the kit and your opinions of the parts.

Thanks Stephen,
Overall i think its a great kit ,the quality of the moulding is very good with very little flash and nice detail. The only minor problems i came across were the length of the undercarridge legs(which i read about in one of your reviews). A slight alignment issue with the fuselage but that could have been me... and the stitching on the underside. Which i will replace with photo etch the next time as it doesn't look that good especially when the fuselage is slightly out. The decals are nice and settle without too many problems using sol and set.

i think the one thing that would make it even better would be a nice resin engine. Overall you can't really complain though, Its a great kit.

For anyone thinking of building a bi or tri plane do 2 things,
1) drill all rigging holes before you assemble anything and
2) build and paint in sections then assemble the whole lot at the end.

Paul,

Very nice job on both builds. Especially nice job on the streaking, how did you do it?

Paul,

Are the decals of a home made nature or are they commercially available?

Thanks, Dwayne
