Hi All,

I am about to start Monogram's Grumman Albatross.

How was it finished, Natural Metal Finish or silver/aluminum paint?

Were the wheel wells zinc chromate?

USN used them too. I saw one in the late 40s that was overall blue, and I think it had yellow wings. Is this how they were painted? How about in a combat zone? What markings would the Navy version carry?

Thank you,

Fred

#:-) Well, what to my wonderous eyes should appear! In this month's AIRPOWER, in Pt. 3 of their Korean War story, there is a color shot of a Navy Albatross.

Overall sea blue, white border rectangle under cockpit with a number in it, star and bar on fuselage, NAVY right of it, and some code on tail, as well as some linear marking atop fuselage above door.
