Have had a look at the breakup of the sprus at http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10092346
It look like they are going to do all versions of the A-7 like they did with 1/72.

Cool, I'm looking forward to getting a few of those. When they're on sale, I guess. I'm sure their prices will be up around what Hasegawa's charging. I'll be wanting to do some from Greece and Portugal (maybe Thailand) as well as some USN and USAF A-7s. Geez, if not for the cost, I'd probably have as many of these as I've got 1/48 F-4s.

Wow...that is one steep price....Doesnt look like much has changed from the hasegawa kit except additions of weapons (im not counting the differences between the E and A, just commenting on parts layout, overall detail, etc). Im currious if the landing gear bays are more detailed (though being seperate would make for easy addition of resin parts)

would have been nice if they engineered the intake a bit different for a more seamless (or at least hidden seam). I dont see how a E release can compeat with the Hasegawa kit (which can be found for around $40 or less). Now a 2 seat version might sell....or the B.

Id be interested to get my hands on one and do a comparison in how it builds vs. the hasegawa kit.

I'm looking forward to the E version.... hopefully the price can beat Hasegawa monopoly on the 1/48th.

I'm the in the middle of converting the 1/72 hobbyboss B into an E version....

Can I ask why are you converting the A-7B to A-7E.

If you can lay your hands on the Hobbyboss 1/72 A-7D or A-7H you have the same kit all that is different is the Decals

A-7H - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10067142n/40/1

A-7D - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10065268n/40/1

A-7E - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10065269n/40/1

Fred

Fred,
I was asked about that too...the reason is simple. LHS was on sale and they are running out of the E version and others except for the B. For US$8 it was a pretty nice bargain. Second, i love the E more than anything, so i decided to convert most of the exterior.
Here;s link to the article if u interested to read clicky
FYI, i got all Es including all the Fujimi's 1/72 kit, a few Hasegawa 1/48 and a trump's 1/32 and with lots of resin goodies. I love the early 70s SLUF
Here's one of the example VA-113

Hope this help!

Also, the A-7D and A-7E have different air refueling methods. I looked at the A-7D sprues, but couldn't tell if it came with the A-7E probe or not. The D uses the boom method while the E uses probe and drogue.

The refueling prode for Naval (A-7A,A-7B, A-7C, and so on) + first A-7Ds (about 16 )is part E1 (as far as I can tell All the Hobby Boss 1/72 Corsair kit have it ). For the A-7D Air Force reciever is B-3.

Looking at the Hobby Boss !/48 A-7B http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10097875z7/70/7
The naval refueling prode is part E29, going by how the 1/72 kits were done the Air Force reciever will be on the B sprue
