Has anyone got hold of these kits yet? I'm curious to know how good the claimed new tooling is. Do they compare well to whats gone before?

thanks

They look good value for money.

I'm not sure the Spit Mk. IX is out yet

The mk.XIX looks cool, but the 109 is puzzling. It's the year 2009 and the cockpit details comprise of the seat alone. What gives? Sure, they might be intended mainly for beginners, but still the Spitfire got a decent cockpit interior. Also, check out the gun breech bulges on the 109. Somehow I'm not that convinced.
The marking options seem nice. Always good to see Finnish markings, this one's even on the box art, but then the decal sheet doesn't have stencils for any of the options.

The Spitfire looks nice, although I have Fujimi's PR XIX already but if thats the standard I can't wait for the Mk IX. I'm thinking of throwing my Italeri Mk IX in the bin as it has been the most awful kit to assemble and I'm not happy with it despite copious amounts of filler.
It is odd that the ME109 has only a seat for cockpit detail - not that I'm too bothered as when the canopy is closed on a 1/72 fighter you can't see much detail anyway. I think I need to see the ME109 up close in the flesh as it looks a bit chunky and toyish in the pics.

thanks
Mike
