I'm having trouble finding reviews of the revell 1/72 JU87 and JU88 - can anyone comment on how good or bad these kits are or tell me where they are reviews of them.
thanks
Mike

Hi Mike
Do you build models or are you just building a database or maybe a stack? Just curious ..
both are old and .. well old. Ju 88 -->Hasegawa. Not sure about the Ju 87, maybe Academy, Fujimi or Italeri? Seems there is also collectors stuff: Dragon, Corgi, Forces of Valor
cheers
Steffen

I have a huge stash of kits - almost 100 1/700 ships, 30 ish 1/72 planes and a few 1/35 tanks and 1/48 planes. I do build as well - I'm working on a Italeri Spitfire mk IX and an old Matchbox Halifax and have recently completed a P40/P47/P51/B25/2 * FW190's/HE162/Yak 3/Spitfire Mk V/Typhoon and Tempest - I'm in a plane building phase! I'm asking about various kits that look interesting but want to check them out before I buy - I don't want to buy any really bad kits, as I wont want to build them.
I know Hasegawa for example have done a JU88 but it's expensive and in this case I want to know if the revell kit is worth looking at - I've built an Italeri JU88 before and an Airfix one and I didn't think they were that good. I've found some Revell kits are good and some are bad - hence asking about reviews and advice. In the case of the JU87 I know academy do a JU87G but I would like a B or D dive bomber version - I might still get the Academy JU87G at some point as I quite like the academy kits.
thanks
Mike

Well, the Revell Ju 88 is very old and I do not think you will have fun with it.
the new Revell kits are usually very good, but they also reissue 1960ies stuff. Somewhere on a part at the sprues you will find the production date of the tool (mostly on the outside, so not hidden when finished )
As explained earlier, you can ask me almost anything in 48 scale, but 1/72 is just too small for me so I hope you will get some more detailed answers from others. esp. re Ju 87
all the best
