How is the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51 mustang kit? The price on Luckymodel looked a little low for a 1/32 scale kit. I don't really build aircraft, mostly armor so I need some help.
Thanks
Evan

Hi Evan,
Me too,i`m an armour nut who occaisionally ventures into "wingie-thingie" land.Ive got the D version of this in my my stash and it`s not a bad kit.It is basic compared to the new Trumpeter stuff, but is`nt that half the fun in our hobby - tinkering with something to see if we can improve on it !.I say go for it,you`ll love it.

Im going to build a mustang for my grandpa as a bday present because its his favorite plane but Im not sure what the best kit/AM combination or scale is in the $30-$40 range.

The Hassy offering is an old one. It was great in its day. I am currently working on a Dragon one. Its a lot of work filling in extraordinarily deep panel lines, but it looks nice as it goes along. I threw in an Eduard cockpit detail kit, including an instrument panel, and it looks nice. Depending on when/where you are building it for you have to fill the holes on the wing bottoms for the HVA Rockets. I don't believe that most 8th AF Mustangs for example used them. It does have positionable control surfaces. I think that the later Dragon offering an earlier P51D without the fuselage fillet may correct some of the panel line problems, but I haven't seen it.
