Got out this weekend and found these at a garage sale...cheap, but in need of help. The P38 needs a landing gear assy and, well, both could use new decals.
Would 1/72 scale decals work on these things?...1/48?

Bob, I don't think they are either of those scales. They're just meant to be fun little wierd airplane models I guess. My suggestion would be to just hold up a 1/72 decal and then a 1/48 scale decal to each plane and see which one looks the best.
If you find you need some decals ie. the shark mouth, stars, etc. gimmie a holler. I have a buttload of extras in 1/48 and a few in 1/72 you can have.

I have a monogram 1/48 P-40 and those shark mouths are way too big...I'm thinking 1/72 would be better.
The zero's meatballs are all just at a 1/2" round.
The P-38's wing stars are the same. The mouths on the P-38 are 3/4" long by 3/8" - full arc height. Fuse stars are 3/8" round.
How's that measure up in 1/72 scale stuff?
