Hello everyone,

I know I’ve seen images of heavily weathered Corsairs in various WWII documentaries etc. But I’m having trouble finding any still frames. Does anyone know where I could find some references on the Net or have a good reference book recommendation?

Thanks in advance,

Noah

Also the land based birds were alot more weathered than the carrier birds do to more controled maintenance faciltys..

I agree , from what i have seen the Marines island based ones and New Zealand Corsairs ( which were also land based) seemed to have the most faded paint etc.

Also it appears that for corsairs in GSB, the GSB used in the vought/ good year plants wasnt as durable as the GSB used at Grumman. Ive seen lots of color pics with some very dull looking "Gloss" paint including chips and some very heavy exaust staining...that includes carrier based birds.

Ill dig through my archive of pictures..im sure Ive got some on the home computer.
