Hi all

I just had my regular look at HLJ and i found something very interesting! Scott Hards has done a wonderful reportage on "Model Factory Hiro". Ever wondered how things are done in short run production ... here is much of what you ever wanted to know ... yes I know Hiro-san produces car kits ... but watch til the end

be aware that your 9900 baud modem will give up on these ..

HLJ Podcast page

Have fun! ..

all the best

you should really have a look .. most interesting stuff and I am not into car modelling at all .. wonder what ww2 aircraft Hiro-san has in mind ... hopefully not 1/24 or 1/20 but in TOTS

cheers

Yes I had a look, most impressive.
He should start with a 1/32 scale Westland Whirlwind, now that would be impressive

Steffen: Great link. Thanks a lot. Now it's time to dream!

Mal: How on earth can you even dream so far out? I'd go bananas over a 1:32 Whirlwind, but even dreaming about it rises questions about sanity .

But a SAAB J 21in 1:48 would be awsome. DB-engines are already on the market - if need should occur.

And that's about how sane i am

Thank you guys!!! .. I was already thinking I am kind of a geek finding that interesting .. Well, I build model kits, so probably I am, but still ....

I hope for something in 1/48 but I rather guess it will be large scale (1/32 upwards) and multimedia "reallyhurtthewallet" but close to perfect kit .... for a starter I think IJN/IJA or Luftwaffe (from a business point of view) .. OTOH Hiro-san seems to have his own approach on doing things

all the best

Without re-watching the clip, when asked, didn't Hiro-san say that he doesn't listen to customers wants, he creates what he likes He obviously likes cars and he probably does like Luftwaffe stuff (don't we all), but a lot of the Luftwaffe stuff has been done, where as there is still loads of British stuff, Westland Whirlwind in 1/32 scale, that needs to be done and what a great subject.

Yup. I have to say, I like the guys approach. Not many can live by doing both what they want, and the way they want to. And if he would throw out a Whirlwind I wouldn't be disapointed - I would dig out my old comics, trying to find Ian Kennedys story about the two brothers flying those in 1942! Then I would get one, and have fun all the way.

hi Mal and Tony

Well, I would not be surprised it these were sports aircraft of that era to match the car models .. some italian weirdos or strange french and british stuff is as possible as a 1/24 Bf109 multimedia 400$ collectors item.

Again I would love to see a 1/48 scale Lw aircraft ... Bü181 or 131 maybe ... or a nice new 123 ....

cheers

Steffen
