Hi
I'm just finishing off my Dragon 1/72 HE219 and wanted check the prop colours. Ths instructions say black but I thought most German planes had black-green (RLM70) props - which is correct? Also the same question for a DO217N.
thanks
Mike

Hi Michael
most interesting question!!
IIRC most metal props were RLM70 but the wooden propellers could be black too. But I must say, that I am not sure if I remembered that right.
hope we get some more input from others .... if everything fails post the question at Hyperscale
all the best

This article article on Luftwaffe painting orders says the RLM regulations called for metal props to be painted RLM70, wooden ones RLM71, mentioning that some late-war wooden props were blue-gray.

Thanks for the input - that link is especially useful and i will use it on future builds! However, i have no idea if the props in question are wooden or metal. The HE219 is the A-0 model as flown by Major Streiss (G9+FB) in 1943 and the DO217 is a DO217N1 with DB engines. Which type of props were fitted to these?
thanks
Mike
