Hi there,
This is my first aeroplane model since coming back to the hobby a few years ago(if you don't include the x-wing!). It is the tamiya kit built completely OOB. I used revell aquacolor dark green and humbrol acrylic 29 for the tan. I did not like either of these paints for airbrushing but I think the colours look OK. The lower fuselage was painted tamiya sky. I used pre-shading and an oil wash for the panel lines. Then I added some paint chips with some humbrol silver enamel. The kit decals were not great but after much micro-set the settled reasonably. I did get some silvering but not too bad. I did this model as a request for my mother and really enjoyed it.
Anyway, I hope you like it.
Cheers, Jim.

Oh yeah, me likey! Especially the belly. Nothing is as sweet to panel line shading as RAF duck egg. What kit and scale is it?

Hi there Tony, Terri and Nigel,
Thanks for the replies and the kind words. Tony, the kit is 1/48th scale, and yes the belly was satisfying to do. I am tempted to try Tamiya's 1/48th Lancaster to go with this but I don't think I will have the space!!!
Thanks again,
Jim.

Yes. Space is almost allways a problem, but you have the other two obvious birds to do if you want friends to the Spit. A Hurricane Mk I and a Bf 109 E. Those will not spread too wide . Looking forward to whatever you choose.
