What's an effective and safe way to polish tge canopy once it's been painted. I just finished painting the canopy of my fw-190 and noticed a dull finish on the surface once I removed the mask. Thanks in advance!!

mask off the painted areas with(good) masking tape (like tamiya brand or what you find at an art store, not the cheap stuff) and use polishing compound for plastic.

I can copy that!
I removed a seam once on a canopy by carefully scratching it away with a sharp exacto knife and then polished it with Tamiya polishung compound. The result was perfect in a remarkable short time.
Be careful however not to break the canopy

Hi Hermann
You don't say what type of paint you've used. If it's acryilic without a primer and/or there's any doubt as to how well it will adhere to the plastic, I'd take a bit of the tackiness off the masking tape before you use it, by dabbing it onto the back of your hand.
All the best
