Hello,

I'm a recent returnee to kitbuilding even though I'm only 16. I bought a revell starter class airbrush about 5 years ago but I quickly out grew it.
Now, I'm searcing for a new airbrush. I have a budget of around £50 and I was wondering if there was anything on the market that anyone could recommend at this price?

Thanks, that airbrush seems pretty amazing for the price. Now I'm worried about the compressor!
I stil have the compressed air cans that came with my revell airbrush, will they work with this brush?

..I would imagine so..Premi-air do a mini compressor for the brush though, retails for a similar cost ..no idea whether it'll suit you but I've seen it in action briefly.

The air cans will most probably work but this seems, on longer term, like a very expensive solution.

My advice would be to use all the cans that you have and then move to a compressor.

There are also several "do-it-yourself" solutions like using a car tire as source for compressed air, or airbottles from a diver, or ... but i do not recommend these. Pressure is dangerous! Don't mess with it if you do not know what you are doing.

..the spare tyre option may be a bit awkward for a 16 year old but I used to inflate mine to about 40 psi, air lasted long enough to spray one model....very cheap option for air though, all you need is the adaptor screw

A good airbrush needs a good air supply to work well.

I'll probably write another Review specifically of the G35 when I get a chance to give it an outing. Seeing as it's an entry-level airbrush, and choosing an airbrush is such an important decision for newcomers to our hobby, if you (or anyone else) would like to add their own impressions of it, I'll include them in the Review text. Combined together, they should be really valuable in enabling anyone to make an informed decision over what can be something of a step into the unknown.

My search for a compressor appears to be near its end.
I have 2 possibilities lined up and I would like someone to give me some advice to keep searching or buy one of the 2 compressors.

Hi Michael

I must admit I don't know anything about the Elephant kit, but I'd go for the Badger setup - it should be good quality and the compressor has a regulator and moisture trap which you'll find really useful.

Hi Micheal , Rwoan is right . Go with the Badger set up . A mositure trap is much need will save many projects and headaches in the finish . The regulator will help with doing different effects and paint schemes .
