Good morning.

I have just accepted Techmod Kit.

I search photographs or of information concerning the cockpit of Friedrichshafen ff-33e or another version.
I fear that they do not exist....

I do not find them on Internet.

There are not photographs in "Windsock Datafile n°073- Friedrichshafen FF 33E"

Regards.

Wish I was able to help out Louis . The only ref's I have in the Windsock datafile . So I'm in the same boat as you . After spending my hours looking on the net . I have come up with nil .

Would like to know where Techmod got their refs for doing the kit .

Actually I found quite a lot of information on the internet. Even a breakdown on the various FF types and the engine installations. We are in hopes of getting a bit of a front page feature on Techmod in the very near future.

I found this book, but no painting or photograph of cockpit.

It is a book in German with outside views (photo and drawings) of plane.

If somebody wants to see it, let me know.

Regards.

Looks pretty good, doesn't it ?

I was quite impressed when I got mine on wednesday (remember it is their first kit!). And the price is o.k. too ... well, there is a myriad of rigging wires, but I guess that is no problem for you.

BTW the story of Wölfchen is pretty well covered in Fliegerrevue Extra issue 10 (for those that read German).

All the best

Steffen

We have our answer. Techmod got it right after all!
From the Datafile is is mentioned there were 2 types of the FF33e that were labeled either BFT or HFT.

On the BFT the reel was always under the front cockpit (left side) it had the radio and a bombing rack set up. so the observer sat in the front.

On the HFT the reel was always on the rear cockpit (left side.) Wölfchen was an HFT. This is a radio equipped machine with no internal bomb stowage. So the observer sat in the rear.

Then there are the types without any radio equipment that have no suffix at all.
