Hey guys
I'm in the process of building a JRF Goose for the seaplanes campaign. One of the decal options is an RAF Coastal Command bird from 1943. The box art shows these colors as sort of a slate grey and green.
The directions call for the following:
Dark Slate Grey (FS34096)
Extra Dark Sea Grey (FS36118)
Problem is, every site I've gone to offer 2 or 3 different shades for each color. Can anyone tell me what the correct mix for Tamiya paints would be for these colors, or perhaps Model Master Acrylics?
Thanks in advance,
Hermon

Here is a pic of the box art. Maybe this will make it more clear.

OK, so I guess I'll go with the back up plan and mix up some paints to match the box art.

Have you tried the IPMS Stockholm site? They have a couple of charts there that offer mixes for most common colours and most common types of paint.

Hello Hermon
The box art you show depicts an ex-USN JRF-5 Grumman Goose, which was one of sixteen delivered to Canada and operated by No.13 Operational Training Squadron, RCAF, on the west coast.
The aircraft was most likely painted in the standard British camouflage colors of Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey over Sky Type S undersides.

Grumman Goose. S. Ginter
Testors Model Master Enamels seen to look good with a little darkening of the RAF Dark Sea Grey
Hope that helps you out a tad.
