Yes, you did read the scale right! Dragon Models are scaling down their fantastic largescale Bf 110 to 1:48 for release early next year.

Hmm, interesting!

I personally like Eduards 110 very much and I think it is one of their best models. Knowing the construction tweaks there is not much to complain (well, actually there always is but not much in this case) .. So do we really need another one? IMO not.

Looking at the 3d art (which of course means nothing) I see that there is NO seperate LE slats .. so the weakest point (IMO) of the Eduard kit is replicated again. Seperate tail control surfaces are a nice touch. Flaps were up on almost all occasions .. no need to mold them separate, though some may like that.

We'll see how it really turns out

I have all of the Eduard 1/48 Bf110 releases with the exception of the weekend editions so I probably won't be buying another round unless there is some sort of earth shattering difference.

I think that Dragon would have done better if they had expanded the 1/32 Bf110 to include a G-4. Now that I want.

Even though I am not enthusiastic about this release, some of you still might be so here are a few pix from the Hobby Collectives site.

Edit Having a closer look at that page, it might be the 32nd scale model rather than the 48th scale as release date is given at July 2010:

Doesn't look bad at all! Do the PE seatbelts come also in the kit?

Well, no LE slats and they missed the rope to the dinghy. I do not like how the front canopy sits, but might be an optical trick ... so IMO (as Thomas Voigt already posted on HS) a good candidate for the "Most Dispensable Relase of the Year Award"

Thinking about it these may be pix of the 32 scale kit(on the page above release date is July 2010...) ... but hard to tell the scale from the pictures. OTOH there will not be many differences ...

Hi there

I think it looks very promising indeed. From the latest CAD drawings I've received this morning, the model in the photos probably isn't quite the finished item, but I'm looking forward to Dragon's '110.

Hi Rowan

you are probably right that the tool is not done yet. I did not look at the release date first, but have extended my answer to Tuomas' post ....

Thanks for the picks steffen, real nice,I may get one of these, since i have no 110's in my collection.I never built one of their aircraft,I have built several of their armor kits and found them enjoyable. How do their aircraft build up?

PS Steffen....any more progress on the raptor ?

Hi Anthony

no news on the Raptor. It is on ice and I will not tackle it again this year. I hope I can finish the SEM soon and maybe get some progress on some civil projects .. but thats about it. I will be driving home for Christmas at the end of next week so there is no modelling after that until I am back in January. (except some Revell Star Wars stuff I will be building with my nephew)

all the best
