Well gentle folk Eduard has stepped up with a great photoetch set for the Wingnut Wings 1:32 SE 5a with the Hisso characteristics and It looks like this is just the beginning as there promises to be sets for the Roden 1:32 DH 2 and Spad VII.

Hi Stephen
I have been watching this set, although I dont have the SE5a on order its a very comprehensive set and I think possibly one of the best to add to an already great kit.
I understand that Radek at Karaya, has brought out a large amount of PE for the LVG, would that be correct, especially the Parabellum and Spandau machine guns (with Pre-Rolled Jackets). do you have any idea what has become available.

Oh that would be nice. I have a second LVG lurking around here somewhere.

Here is a comment from the fine historian Dan San Abbott

Hi Stephen:
There are two errors in the frets, 1. the width of the radiator for the geared engine is the width between the inner faces of the longerons , not the width of the fuselage. 2. The triangular celluloid covers over the wings and stabilizer pulleys were screwed to the wood frame on the wings and stabilizers, and then the edges were covered with frayed tape. There was no frame of wood or metal over the celluloid cover.
Merry Christmas Steve,
Dan-San

Greetings Dan,
The metal covers come from a post war restored version at Point Cook. Note the frayed tape edges under the metal framing.
Hugh Coleman photoshopped a set for application to clear decal for his Roden 1:32 SE 5a 2008.

Here are some other details from the "Viper" SE 5a at Point Cook courtesy of the good fellow Hugh Coleman April 27, 2008.

"Today, my wife and I visited the RAAF Museum at Point Cook, here in Melbourne. Point Cook is the longest continuous operating Airfield in the world, having been established in Feb 1914, and the Museum sports many examples of early aircraft operated by the Fledgling RAAF, Among which was the SE5a. I thought I could not pass up the opportunity of taking a few reference shots for Stephen Lawson's use. . ."

Much of the Eduard frets cover these items except for the radiator of course.
