Yes Dave excellent, I've seen the episode and the actual "Model" for real at RAF Cosford (I think Andy (Betheyn) took some pics?).

I found it interesting how he got the kids so interested in the project.

Here's the pics I took when the Bulldogs visited RAF Cosford just before Scale Model World

Hi Allen
That actually looks even more impressive than in the programme! The way it was edited, the final unveiling was almost an anti-climax (but that's just another TV editor talking shop! ).
The whole thing has given the most enormous boost to our hobby in this country - the assistant in my LHS was only saying last week how sales have boomed! Airfix kits were almost a way of life for me as kid, and the best thing will be if it really does achieve the goal of bringing in a fresh generation of modellers - and going by my recent visit there definitely are more kids getting in the way at the shelves!
All the best
Rowan

Awh man, I can't watch it{not viewable outside of the UK}...it's that whole tea party thing again, isn't it?!
Ok, question
-where's the sprue cutter at?
-who's making the PE set?
-how many paint jars did it take?
-was it tube glue or liquid?
-did the decal sheet come with other markings?
-how much future did it take for the canopy dip?
-can it be ordered without VAT to keep costs down?{you know kit cost and s/h runs bad enough these days}
-wonder if I can sneak that box past the wife?
;)

Looks like it still had raised panel lines Dare to scribe?

Don't worry the rivet counters and purist's would have a field day picking faults with it.
It seemed a shame that it's currently stored outside and the canopy is covered over so you can't see the pilot figure
I was surprised that Miracle Masks wasn't approached to get a more authentic finish for the roundels

It is clearly waiting for the resin boys to come up with a cockpit detailing set for it
Yes we had quite a laugh remarking on what Hypertensioners might be saying about it but, even with the obvious none Mk I features and wrong colour markings (where are Miracle Masks when you need them?)the model is very impressive and, as you can see does look like a Spitfire and yes I do want one. No Seriously because I now know were it was made I just need a front garden big enough.

Hi Mal
Hopefully you'd look after it better than they have this one - it's already taken a bit of a battering on the trailing edge of wing, and the wing root has split.
All the best

Go steady those kids had only built a couple of models before tackling this behemoth. The trailing edge warping is probably from using too much glue and they haven't found how to use filler properly yet

i loved it. when i started building model kits aged 12 years old the first kit i ever built was the spitfire mk1a from airfix, seeing what those kids accomplished made me feel slightly jealous, how much fun would it be to build a model kit in 1:1 scale especially of a spitfire? it would be well worth it i think. This is one of my favorite builds.
The line "It's a tank you idiot", might make it onto my signature block.
