Okay: Here is my finished Roden Albatros D.III

The rigging is the EZ Line heavy, although I think I would use Fine on my next ones. I used the brass wire for turnbuckles per Terri. Overall I am happy with it, the landing gear is really delicate and I would pay extra attention to the alignment and bracing of the gear.

I will probably post more, but this is from our December Twin Cities Aero Historian Contest.

There are no pics or links, and I haven't even been drinking!

Well, I can fix one part of the problem, at least...

The place is called Berkshire Junction. Their website is berkshirejunction.com
They operate on trust. Email them, tell them what you want and where to send it, the package comes with an invoice. Great service.

Not sure what the problem is. When I log in on a differenct computer I can download the pictures, and see them. When I come to work and look at the posts, it isn't there. So I did it again from my work computer, and now it seems to work.

It was a fun build and I am looking forward to another one.

Mark: a very fine build in a striking looking scheme.

Thanks Nick:

You can rig your model. Just make it simple. It is a difficult subject to rig, but in 1/48 just take your time, and simplify it until you gain the skills and confidence to take it one step further. You can do it.

Really thank you for the encouraging words

What scale is your albatros??

What do you mean "simplify it"??

How long did the rigging take??

Really thank you for the encouraging words You are welcome

What scale is your albatros?? It is 1/32nd scale

What do you mean "simplify it"?? Instead of using turnbuckles and double rigging the elevators just run the line through the pre drilled holes. In that scale it will still look good. Practice that until you get confident and then go for a more robust rigging job.

How long did the rigging take?? On the Albatros it is fairly simple: I spent maybe an hour at the most making turnbuckles, then drilling the holes, and actually rigging the model took approximately 2 hours maybe. I didn't time it, and time goes faster when doing something like that.

Cheers Nick
