Hi all
first I wish everyone a happy new year!
Then there is the link: Revell news 2010
and now a bit of complaining about three new 32 models and not a single in 48, o.k. the Eduard re-issues are nice, but still ... what about the EF double seater that must be ready to produce ...
Well, all in all they have quite a schedule of news for 2010 and I wish them luck and financial success .. maybe they could invest a fraction in better quality control in Poland (where the injection moulding is done)...
all the best for the new decade
Steffen
P.S. despite my thoughts not to post news I make an exception for this one ...

Hi Steffen
Ahh - so all the rumours were true. A 1:32 Heinkel He 111! That should grab the headlines! I like the idea of an Ar 196 too (although I'm still smarting from the Italeri effort! LOL!)...

Hi Rowan
I knew of talks between the Italeri design team and Volker Vahle from Revell at the last toy fair. Obviously it was not sufficient as he headed eastward late last year to measure one of the two surviving aircraft.
I am pretty disappointed about the news (as stated earlier) but seeing the response at HS there are much more people with large flats and budget (for a myriad of AM)..... seems I will have to spend my budget in the far east.

Hi Steffen
It's a shame Revell didn't do the 1:48 Ar 196! Perhaps, after seeing the Italeri effort, they might scale down their largescale one... please! LOL!
Yep - big kits seem to be the flavour of the moment (maybe it's a form of Anti-Recession psychology). I was planning on a nice big workshop in the basement when I moved here, but it's still filled to bursting with all my packing cases, so that hasn't quite happened yet!

I thought they had an F-22 in the works (1:48). What a shame for I was looking forward to getting one.

Hi Steffen, Thanks for taking the time and posting this list of releases. I like you am a bit disappointed with the lack of 1/48 offerings this year.
Reissue of the 1/48 Monogram A-10? with so many "new tool" offerings from the likes of Italeri and Hobby Boss is this a wise move? The Monogram kit was a bad kit when I built it over 10 years ago and I doubt it would of got any better since then, but my modelling skills have improved so it might be easier now

Thanks for the news Steffen.
It is always good to see some premium kits reboxed by Revell since the price usually drops too. Looking forward also to those new 1/144 subs.

Hi All
Thanks for responding!
Allen: Some consider the Monogram A-10 as the most accurate model. I do not know if it is very serious but I bought the HB kit last year for a good price at Lucky (also just ordered the F-105D for 24€ including p&p) ... I prefer engraved panel lines over some shape issues (someone built the kit here on Aeroscale and I liked the look) .. probably try to get the Dmold nose correction anyway ..
Tuomas: Yes I also like the reboxes, but they are expensive (incomparison) for Revell and thus there are no Hasegawas this year (or last year) ... still I hope this will be picked up again ... one day.
Richard: I was told that DTM keep the rules fixed for this year so the 2010 cars might be easily issued with some slight changes. I would not expect further decal variations from last year as this is not Revell policy (at least it was not in the past) But I am sure there will be aftermarket products.
wish you all a good start into 2010 ...
Steffen

Steffen, we haven't met until now, but thanks for posting this news. Although I occasionally stray into the larger scales, I'm primarily a 1/72 modeller and am very pleased to see a newly tooled B17G listed. Likewise some of the re-issues, such as the Gladiator (Matchbox, I would presume) and the Bearcat (Monogram?). A 1/32 Ar 196 would be very tempting too and it would be nice to think there may be some chance of seeing it 'downscaled' to 1/48 (or even 1/72!). Now, of course, it will just be a matter of waiting for all these new treasures to reach the part of the world where I live. We always get the new stuff months after the rest of the world...and sometimes not at all!
All the best,
Tim.

1/32 He 111? Wow! If it is priced close to the JU 88, I will certainly shoe-horn it into the stash pile!! I'm about to order the JU 88 with holiday money. No pretense about sneaking a huge box into the house. if SWMBO gets upset, well, it is what it is!
Sweet!

Hi Tim and Rick
I was told the B-17 shall be kind of modular so a B-17F is possible from the mould ... we'll see.
as for prices: the He 111 is priced at 69,99€ which is a much more real price than the ridiculous 35€ for that Junkers. .. might be it will include some PE but I do not know anything. The Arado is 22,99€ (same for the B-17) and the Hawk 19,99€
Just for all who have no idea how large a He 111 is in blind men scale (this is Bill Bosworth with his 1970ies scratch build model ... hope to see it in Nuremberg):
cheers
Steffen

Can't believe no-one has mentioned the 1/32 Hawk yet!!! With its small size, and anticipating a good price from Revell (£30-35?), it should sell well. I'd certainly be in for a couple

Yeah, it's that big. I saw this monster at a contest down in the SE USA one year as Bill likes to display his work but not enter. His 1/32 Betty bomber is also quite large.
Now if RoG can do this kit why not a B-26 AND B-25 in 1/32nd. Both would still be slightly larger than a Su-27 or F-14 so why not put these in kit form.
However a He111 in desert colors next to a JG 27 Bf-109F would look great.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! That's HUGE! How could a Hurri or Spit pilot miss those suckers? Not cloud ballerinas are they? More like wandering sky hammerheads!
Note- If you call this 'Blind Man's scale', it's because we put Airfix on the map forever when we were little kids.........

Hi Steffen
Those are amazingly low prices for 1:32 kits. If Revell can keep to them come release time, they should sell like hot cakes! I'll definitely get the Arado if it's any good.
All the best
