This is my 10 year old daughters first model. After seeing me work on my stuff she started to express an interest in trying one. We went to the model store and she liked the good'ole P-47. She did most of the work herself. I cut the parts out for her and trimmed them up but she glued them together and sanded the seams as best she could. She did quite a bit of the painting by brush but she also airbrushed the exterior herself. I gave her a quick five minute crash course in airbrushing and let her try it. I held the plane why she worked the airbrush. I would tell her if she was holding it too close or going too fast or too slow. I did the decals for her because she's gone to Florida to spend time with the Grandparents. Overall she did pretty good for her first model. I'll have to pick one of these up for myself.

Now thats what I am talking about, Kids. Girls! Getting into this wonderful hobby. She could be out putting dried flowers in a photo album, or knitting, but instead shes building a model!

Thats what I like to see, and as far as the plane, I would like to see more!!!!
Tell her that Chip250 said she is an excellant builder!

Outstanding work, im still nowhere near that standard with aircraft.
Congratulate her. You should show her these posts aswell, might keep her interested in the hobby, that and free acess to her fathers unbuilt kits and supplies!!

Hey, Tin Can (sir!),

Tell your daughter that this is GREAT! She did an excellent job for her first kit.

My only gripe for her is that it needs tracks! :-)
