Now for the really dumb question: How started is started? I have an F-105F that it looks like I painted the cockpit back in '98, packed it up and moved 6 times (GA-WA with stops in between). Is this kit really started, or should I grab another kit?
Hey Mark
In this present economic decline,I think you could get away without buying another kit

Thanks. I did an inventory, looks like 1 each F-100, F-101, F-102, F-106 and F-107. 3 each F-111 and 4 !!! each F-105. Little disappointed, thought I had another F-101. So I wouldn't have to buy a new kit, but I would like to finish something for once.

Nice choice, Damian. I thought you were making the Thunderchief?
I will enter with the 1/48 F-105 Thunderchief from Revell. I will go for a Vietnam shark monthed wild weasel. I really love that scheme!

D, check Sprue Brothers.....and several other sites. There are some really cool decal sets for the Voodoo on the market now.
I'm torn on my entry. I want to build the Hun I have in my stash, but I also want to do my 102 Dagger. A friend of mine here at work used to do maintenance on 102's back in the early 60's in Holland and I have a decal set of the fighter group he was in (32nd FIS). I may leave the Hun on the shelf cause I really want to build the Dagger for my buddy.

I'm in too! I have the Hasegawa 102 and 106. The Revell 104, a nice kit really, plus the 100 by ESCI. I even have a 101, from Matchbox, all in my requisite 72 scale of course. What to choose? Russell

Hi J
not sure on the paint job yet as the decals are still in the post!!,I dont fear BMF anymore as Alclad is fantastic to use,you just got to prep it right! ie NOOOOO DUST.
I use SNJ buffing powder on the bright Alclad shades, looks a treat

Hey Andy, I made my decision. Since Justin is building the Trumpeter F-100 which is a much better kit than my old Monogram, I'm gonna go with the F-102.
A bit of history on my bird. An older gentleman (and friend) that I work with actually did ground maintenance on this aircraft operating out of Soesterberg AB back in the early 60's. I actually found a decal set that is an exact replica of the birds he worked on and he even has a photo of the Dagger from 1962 wearing these decals.
Here's a link to his old fighter wing:
http://www.slobberinwolfhounds.com/galleries/0/1000007/?page=10&sort=&order=&type= My kit will wear the markings of photo #7 with the red, white and blue tail sporting the "Slobberin Wolfhounds" badge in the middle of the tail.
Not to sound too blubbery or kind hearted.......
.........but this fellow is due to retire in late February and I was gonna give him this finished model to put in his display cabinet with his Air Force decorations and certificates.

Hi all!
This will be my first group build here, and just getting back to modeling after a very long hiatus, but I am looking forward to it!
I have the Lindbergh F-100D that I will be doing and looking currently for 27th TFW 522nd or 524th decals. (My Dad flew F-111's for 20 years, so I have a tendency to build from the squadrons he flew in)
Excited to see all the builds!
