I am looking to build my own base for 1/32nd Luftwaffe planes, and would like to do something like this from Just Plane Stuff on my own:

Can someone tell me what the width in 1/32nd scale would be? I was looking at 3/8-1/2" balsa and cedar square lengths at my LHS, but didn't want something that's not to-scale.

I am not a math whizz, but; in 1/32 scale an inch equals 32 inches or 2 and 2/3 feet. The planks in the diaorama look to be about 2 scale feet, which in my math challenged mind would be about 3/4 of an inch in 1/32nd. 3/8 would be a bit small, 1/2 you could probably get away with.

Good luck

I was thinking closer to 18", but that's why I wanted some guidance from y'all. I will look at other pieces of wood to see if there's some planking that's 3/4-1" width.
