I’m looking for some pictures of a B-24 H Liberator nicknamed Black Zombie, serial number 41-29602, coded J6*Q, placed on detached service from the 856th Bomb Squadron of the 492nd Bomb Group to the 406th Night Leaflet Squadron at Station 113 Cheddington, England.
I believe this plane was originally THE LORETTA ANN 490BG, 850BS "N", and serial number 41-29602.
I have some information that maybe it was painted gloss black with the numbers and code in yellow. It’s very difficult to find some good pictures about this monster, please I appreciate it all your help, thank you, and bye for now

Hi Jahns

I'm afraid I can't help either!!

My only reference to the 406th is a section of "Bombers - the aircrew experience" which mentions their "black-painted B17s..." Not the biggest help!!

It sounds a fascinating aircraft. As Holdfast says... Welcome to Armorama, and keep us up to date :-)

All the best

Thanks pals
I want the information because I’m working in a 1/48 Monogram B-24 but as you can see I want it “Black Zombie” and I know that its very difficult to find good info specially when this bomber worked in a Secret Squadron of the Eighth Air Force! But anyways, I will keep you inform about my progress.
Thanks again,
Prowler
