i am about to start my Tamiya spitfire MkIX and i want to do the desert / tropical scheme.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to which colours they are in any of the ranges below especially the underside blue and the light sand colour.
for Dark Earth i am using xtracrylix dark Earth. What colour out of Tamiya, Vallejo or Xtracrylix would i use for the other two camo colours? When i check the Vallejo chart on their website it give me two different shades - none of which look right...
Cheers..
Alastair

Hi Alastair
Welcome to Aeroscale! It's great to have you with us and I'm looking forward to seeing your Spit.
I'm not sure if Tamiya do all the colours straight from the pot - the Spitfire instructions show a mix for the undersides of the desert scheme. I did try some Valleyo paints years ago but wasn't convinced by their accuracy, so I'd stick with the Xtracrylics:
You've got the XA1002 Dark Earth, so you want XA1009 RAF Middle Stone and XA1026 Azure Blue.
All the best
