hi all,
is anyone interested in a sepecat jaguar build in 2011 ?
any scale any airforce.
hopefully by then the 1/48 eduard release of the airfix mold will be out although you can still get the airfix boxing for a resonable price along with plenty of aftermarket parts.
not forgetting the heller version and a 1/32 trumpter version in the future.
let me know
paul

Well Paul, I'll jump in on this one.
Cutting down on campaigns but as this is for next year thats only one.
Plenty of 1/72 Jag's in the stash and loads of AM decal sheets only problem will be deciding which one or two to do. Plus hopefully will have the Eduard re-issue Airfix by then.
Two aircraft will always get a yes from me, Jag's and Tomcats.
Give it time, others will come.

Paul,
I love the Jaguar, but a Sepecat Jaguar campaign is quite a narrow campaign idea and might not attain that much interest. "One aircraft" campaigns might work for the real classics (Mustang, Phantom, Spitfire, BF-109 etc) that served in many airforces and came in many versions. To my knowledge, the Sepecat Jaguar served in six countries only.
How about broadening it a little? I'd love any campaign with a cold war and/or modern focus!

ok i see your point about the narrow focus..........
lets see if we can come up with something else.... i like your cold war idea, that would give us loads of classic jets.

Cold War / Modern......I'd enlist for sure. I have plenty in the stash that would qualify.

Just an idea that sprung into my mind - How about "That 70's show"?! During the 1970's, the cold war was arguably at it's freezing point. Loads of aircraft (including the Jaguar) where ready to take part in a feared conflict between the two superpowers and their allies. At the same time, there where hot conflicts around the globe... (albeit that I think maybe the campaign should focus on the cold one, and leave for example Vietnam out of it)...
As I said, just an idea.

Edit And most of the aircraft had colour during the 70's! Not just NMF, and not just low-wiz Grey/Grey!

If it means I could build either my F-14 or my Saab Draken I'd be a happy boy indeed!

I'm definitely up for a "70's" campaign! I'm also thinking of Draken! Or a Phantom... Or a Mig...
Been looking at some pictures of the beasts that were lined up on the European airfields during the 70's era. Scary stuff!

That's the thing with campaigns. Not too narrow, and not too wide. The 70's was just my idea, since that would cover the Jaguar, but it's your call. I would definitly join either way - whether restricted in some way or if it is any aircraft during them 40+ years! Good luck!

I like the thinking here. I fancy doing a Jaguar, I have always wanted to do one similiar to the RAF Jag landing at Bardufoss AB in Norway on the front cover of Arthur Reed's book on the Jaguar [modern combat aircraft 14]. It's covered in a rather tatty winter camoflage of dk green and white.
