What is the difference between Tamiya Green Top Extra Thin glue and Tenax 7R. I've heard that that they work the same way but that Tenax 7R sets up much quicker.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Tenax is a much hotter glue - I've never used it, only Ambroid Proweld - which is pretty much the same. It sets faster than Tamiya Extra thin - almost instantly. I prefer it to Tamiya.

Just to chime in with my two cents, I've not used Tamiya Green Top Extra Thin, but it is my experience that Ambroid Proweld sets much faster than Tenax. Proweld is almost instantaneous where you have the slightest bit of wiggle time with Tenax.
