Here is a review of Eduard''s long expected 1:48 scale Fw 190D-9 kit. While it is very similar to the Fw 190A series of kits it is in fact an all new tool.

Hi Jean-Luc
as always very nice review!
The "direct link" to the c&m is not present.
Can you comment on the fat tail appearance from the early pix posted on eduards site?
TIA
all the best

Hi Jean-Luc
That does look really exciting! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these beauties!
I'll be interested to see the tail for real too.
As you say, the "hybrid" gun cowl is a perfectly fair compromise - Jerry Crandall has identified 5 different styles, each with minor variations of panel lines and bulges - so, providing instructions and the ingredients for the modeller to model each of them is all anyone can reasonably ask for. It's a shame the sprue attachments had to be on the exterior surface though.
All the best

Hi Steffen and Rowan,
Steffen, thanks for pointing the missing link, it's fixed now.
I haven't test fitted the fuselage halves yet but I will do it soon (I'm at work now). The kit will land on my workbench when the Bobcat is finished.
I have the impression that it is the same tail as in the Fw 190A serie of kits though. I have looked at my Nightfighters again and the tail problem isn't something that I felt was off to the point that it was disturbing. I guess those which were happy with the tail of the earlier kit will still be happy with this one and those who weren't will continue to see it as a shortcoming of the Eduard kit...
