Hi All, I am interested in doing Beurling's VC in 1/48 scale using the Tamiya VB Trop and MDC's "C" wing conversion. Victory Decals offers this config but it looks to be out of print. The set VPD48006 is also rather a huge set of decals which I don't need to have other than the Beurling set.

I therefore have 2 questions.

1. Is there another supplier out there that offers this same decal set?
2. Is my selection of kit and conversion set the way to go here?

Thanks,
David.

I looked at "The Spitfire Site" ( http://www.spitfiresite.com/ ) and there are a few work-arounds that some have taken. Check the modeling section.

Good Luck.

If you already have the two kits by all means use them.
Otherwise, you might want to consider using the Special Hobby Spit Vc.

Thanks very much Ken and Richard. I will check out that site. I never knew about the special hobby VC malta defender. I guess I can just get a sheet of a/c numbers from one of the decal providers though I am not sure how to get the serial number of EP706 Any suggestions?

Also I noticed Classic Airframes makes a VC. Which one is the better of the two in your opinions

Same kit, different markings.

You can check out Rowan's review of the Special Hobby kit here

and a review of the Classic Airframes kit here (sorry, it's off-site).

If you want to do Beurling's aircraft, Special Hobby provides you with RAF markings.
