I have revell's 1/72 Mig 29 in Luftwaffe colours and was wondering if any one could make some suggestions as to what colours to use.
I have mostly colours for WW2 RAF/Luftwaffe/USAAF/USN and modern RAF planes and I was hoping there would be some reasonably close matches in them. The colours are grey underneath with green and brown camou on top - any ideas would be most welcome!
thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
About 1991 the Luftwaffe Fulcrums were painted "Norm 90J" Deutsche Luftwaffe
Interim camouflage EG 1: http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/main_e.htm, FS 36320
Dark Compass Ghost Grey
FS 35237 Grey Blue
Bottom
FS 36375 Light Compass Ghost Grey
FS 36320 Dark Compass Ghost Grey
Radome
RAL 7030
RAL 7012 aprox. RAL 7030 Steingrau
or RAL 7012 Basaltgrau
But that's not what you asked for. My guess is they were previously in the Soviet 4-color: Light brown, brown and green over blue gray. Depending on how close you want to be, the Lt brown is close to RAF Middlestone, the brown like German RLM 79, and the green like USAF Medium green.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've looked at them, seen what pics I could find online and I have some thoughts on the subject no. For some silly reason I'm trying to stick to what Luftwaffe colours I have.
If the underside is more blue than grey maybe RLM76?
You say US Med Green - how about RLM83?
I think RLM79 is wrong for the sandy brown colour - it's too orange for me, the RAF midstone is better but I have RAL8000, which is similar.
The brown colour looks darkish and maybe reddish so I'm thinking RLM81 ?
any thoughts on my ideas?
thanks
