Has anybody posted the idea of a Rotary Wing campaign before? In the five years or so I have been on Aeroscale I don't remember one. I have a 1/72 scale Piasakei (hope I spelled that right) H-21 in Air Force markings I want to build. Also a Hobbyboss 1/72 scale Huey I thought I'd throw together. Just a thought I would put out there. Russell

Over the years I’ve ran two Helicopter campaigns and the first was by Phantom Major. ( Death from Above & Guardian Angel ) I noticed that the Helicopter campaigns aren’t that popular so I gave up. It won’t hurt to give it another run at it…count me in!

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Sounds good, I don't know anything about running a campaign so if someone else wants to take the lead just let me know. If worse comes to worse I guess I can do it! Ha ha Russell

Helicopters not popular? No way? This from someone who hasn't built one in fifteen years!

I might be able to play, would you accept the Piasecki Airjeep ? I have the Glencoe Models version in 1/24th.

Cheers, D

Sure, I'd accept the airjeep. I don't really know what I'm doing, but you sure can enter it into the campaign. Russell

Hi Guys,

You can count me in. At least half my stash is choppers so i should be able to fit in with any theme. If not, I guess I'll just have to buy a new kit!

Any ideas for themes? The Guardian Angel theme was good. Plenty of scope.

How about:

Screen Helos (TV and Movie)
Black Choppers (Any colour you like, as long ...)
Anything but Green (Anything but green)
Red Stripe (One or more red stripes in the colour scheme)
UN Helicopters (Self explanitory)
Early Whirlies (Pre-1955 choppers)
Look Ma, no tailrotor! (Twins, tandems, contras)
Oops! (Well-publicised failures and Things That Didn't End Well: Chinooks or Wessex from the Atlantic Conveyer, Iranian Cobras and 214s, CH-53s from the abortive hostage rescue, The Bell 206 and ski-boat crash from You-Tube, etc)
Bigger than Ben Hurr (5+ main rotor blades)
On the skids (Skid landing gear only)
Daglo (Must have daglo colour in the scheme)

Goodness, where did they all come from?

Any of those sound interesting?

Grubby.

I have a helo for every topic proposed by Graeme, except the UN-thing and the Early-Whirlies.

It is great that so many of you have responded. I think that the type of rotary wing aircraft which you build is totally up to you. No restrictions, I was thinking that even the Boeing/Bell V-22 Osprey would qualify for this campaign.

As to how long to set the campaign up for and constructing a ribbon, when to start and end it. I could use some help. I just had the idea, I have no practical knowledge how to run a campaign. Just thought I would be up front about it! Thanks in advance. Russell

Hi all!

It´s about time we run a helo-campaign!

It was a long time since guardian Angel, and I´m itching to build a helicopter again!

(of course, I can build a helo whenever I want to, but it´s more fun in a campaign!)

So, I´m game whenever we get the ball rolling, and any theme is good for me!

We really should give autogyros a chance too, and the V-22 Osprey (not sure WHAT that contraption REALLY is!), Rotodyne, Little Nellie (Wallis Autogyro) and anything inbetween!

I have many choppers in my stash, so I´ll find something that will fit almost any theme!

Cheers!

Stefan E

Guys this sounds good to me also, but I have no real idea what it is. i am ready and willing to learn and always have a helo to build. I say anything that has turny wings is good.

It doesn't take much coxing to get me to build a helo. My last project got destroyed before completion, so I owe one anyhow. I have a few helos, just aching to hit the shelf, so you can count me in.

You can count me in, depending on the start date. I have a few campaigns to get stuff started for now. I have a few helicopters in my stash.
