I'm trying to set up a jig to wrap some solder around and then glue up for coskpit details. First try almost worked execpt the CA ran down and glued the part to the pattern. Is there something like wax paper or acetate that the CA won't stick to that I can see thru to get the strands in the right place?

smooth, dry glass with no scratches is the best you can do as far as i know

Scrap. I was using pins thru paper into cardboard for my jig. Kinda hard to push a hat pin thru glass.

I know from bitter experience that CA won't stick to soft vinyl - the sort they make tank tracks out of. So if you could get a sheet of that (I know not where), it might work. Come to think of it, so might polythene, as they're not very different.

Also, try Teflon. You can get a piece of it at plastic stores.

I gave up on super glue and solder. I ended up solving the problem in plastic with Tamiya's liquid cement.

As someone who spent a fair amount of years building RC planes, might I suggest wax paper when you're using push pins to hold items in place.

I remembered the wax paper technique from building those old Gillow balsa and tissue kits. Just wondered if CA would stick to it also.
