He has done it again! Thanks to "our man down under" we have Aeroscale’s exclusive interview with Wingnut Wings. Yes, James Fahey talks with Richard Alexander at the Wingnut Wings headqurters in the southern Wellington suburb of Miramar. We have a great opportunity with this organization as they have been watching our GB progress and now Mr. Alexander offers a unique insight to this extraordinary model manufacturer.

I was wondering whether Alan and Michael Perry were doing the masters for the figures, after reading
this article about their private commission figures for Peter Jackson. I know their work well from my GamesWorkshop days.
Can't wait to see some builds of the new kits, even thought I'm unlikely to get any myself.

Hi there
Rather disappointing news about the distibution side of things, but I think I'll have to trust to luck and the UK Customs and buy myself one of the new Pups when they are released next month. It's always been a favourite, and will time in just nicely for my birthday!
All the best

Howdy,
Need someone to clarify something for me. When they say 70 more markings options for the kits, are we talking separate decals or multiple boxings ala Hasegawa?
I really only want one Albatros, but if the markings I want are in a later boxing I would rather wait.
Looking forward to the new releases,

Albatrosses or albatri?....either way I'm sending out orders to family mebers for early Bday prezzies

Oh and 1 RNAS Pup...I love the pup and the RNAS versions are brighter coloured.
Still can't cure the AMS even with sausage finger implants & olde eyes.

I thought it was Albatros’
I have a question, some of the guys at my club want to purchase one or two of the kits, but I was gonna do a big order of about 8-10 kits, when the Pups and Albatros’ are released, just wondering if the first 4 kits will still be on sale, because it does state that they are limited editions........

Keith if your plan works you will end up with an ALBATRIBE in the stash
After watching the WNW Group Build threads and reading these reviews and interview, I am getting sorely tempted to cross the line and take up some Early Aviation modelling with one of these kits.
Cheers, D

Hi Rowan, whilst a lot of people want WNW's to use a traditional distribution method, i think (as the interview alluded to) that wholesaler and retailer markups would probably mean you end up paying the same or maybe even more anyway. Plus i bet you'd get them a lot slower as well.
I've been thinking for years now, that in these days of near instant worldwide electronic communications why we even still have the old style wholesalers/distributors at all. And then along comes WNW's and proves my theory. I hope more companies follow them.
But the question of customs duty/tax is valid, but i assume if they were bought in by a distributor they are still paying some form of duty or tax and putting in their markup anyway?

Yield to that temptation. Take the plunge into the Depths of early aviation, don't look back, your modeling skills will be honed and sharpened to a keen edge, your accomplishments will be the envy of all who witness your completed builds and you will ascend into a new realm of modeling glory.

Well, they are a lot of fun anyway.

Hi there

Check out the latest edition of Windsock for full builds of the Pup and Albatros kits - absolutely stunning! I think I'll simply
have to buy an Albatros too now!
All the best

Hi Andrew
The real problem here is not just the cost, but not knowing how much you'll get clobbered for. It really seems to be pot luck. When you're on a tight budget, you simply want to know up front what the final cost will be...
Buying in the shops couldn't be slower than it has been already for me - because I'm sad to say the current system has put me off buying altogether so far!

But that will change with the release of the Pup and Albatros kits.

All the best

I really feel for you guys and your problems with taxes, import fees and postal limitations. It is sad there is no way to cure it. These kits are absolutely stunning and worth the $59.00. I do not think it is fair that you have to pay up to twice that amount. I am sure the folks at Fort Wingnut would love to find a solution. But being a respectable company, their hands are tied.
But let me focus on these kits now. For as long as I have been a member here, I have been complaining about the lack of a 1/32nd scale Albatros D.V / D.Va. Now, we are close. Really, really close to a double release. They look amazing, and I am anxious to get my grubbies around them.

This is their teaser format. When the icon boxes change to active status the frenzy begins. Also look for a bit of fun in the reviews section very soon as well.
