Just received the Pacific Coast Models Macchi C.200 in 1/32nd, and plan to build one of the Russian front versions. The problem is the color scheme is, well, not helpful in buying paint, either from my LHS or over the 'Net. I know what the various colors are by name, but who makes their closest equivalents?
Nocciola Chiaro ("light brown")
Verde Oliva Scuro ("dark olive green")
Verde Mimetico ("camoflage green")
Giallo Cromo ("chrome yellow")
Giallo Mimetico ("camoflage yellow," presumably Camo Yellow #3?)
Grigio Mimetico ("camoflage gray")
Grigio Azzuro Chiaro ("light blue gray")
Marrone Mimetico ("camoflage brown")
I saw a reference to a Czech manufacturer Agama producing Italian camo colors, but don't know if there are others and who imports Agama.

Hi Bill,
I would contact Jean Barby to ask what he used.
I recall Colour Coats had Italian A.F. paints, but did not find them on their site.
Finally, there is Urban's Colour Reference Charts
Italy.

Hi Bill
Yes, WEM Colourcoats do an excellent Regia Aeronnautica range of enamels.
If you prefer to work with acrylics, I'll be reviewing the first set from the LifeColor acrylics range very soon:
All the best

Thanks, Gents. I prefer acrylics, so I'll see what you have to report, Rowan, but also check out that color chart.

Hi Bill,
I forgot to say that Polly Scale has seven Italian WW2 colors: http://www.testors.com/category/137792/WWII_Italian_AricraftArmor.
For my money, Polly Scale is the best acrylic out there. No, I am not affiliated with them.

Thanks, Fred, but I ordered the LC acryllics from TankRats yesterday.
But I appreciate the heads up because I also like PS very much.
