The winner of the recent poll to decide the next P-47 group build was "Dressed To Kill".

Like any other group build on the Kitmaker network we need 10 people to enlist before it becomes an active campaign. Assuming this happens then the build will start on April 1st.
You can read the rules and enlist on the DRESSED TO KILL CAMPAIGN PAGE

Hey Nige

Since my "Balls Out" bird was destroyed in my display case mishap, This'll give me a chance to build another Jug. Since what-if's are allowed, what about a P-47 racer with a custom paint job?

Sounds like a good idea Hermon.

Hi all!

I love the Thunderbolt, so I can´t miss this Campaign!
But, why don´t make it an "official" campaign?
At the moment we must be more then 10 people?

Oh, well, here´s my kit (I moved it fron the TPin-Up" Campaign, but she´s still not touched!

I´ll do one of my favourite pin-up arts of all time, and I wanted to build this machine even before there were a kit in my desired scale, 1/32!

P-47N, the ultimate Thunderbolt, 1/32 kit from Trumpeter!

Trumpeters decals are simply put, too bad to use, so I got a new (correct) set from Zotz!

"My" bird will be "2 Big and Too Heavy/Short Snorter", with a lovley lady on each side!

At the time when she got the second lady on the right-hand side of the fuselage, the squadron had repainted their tails, so the tail will be in yellow with black stripes!

Can fighter-noseart be better then this?

Classy!

Cheers!

I have the 1:48 Tamiya P47D, which includes markings for 'Little Chief', Frank Klibble 61st FS:

is this colorful ("Dressed to kill")enough? besides the cool cowling markings, rest of the bird is OD.

I also have a 47M, also Tamiya, not as cool markings though:

I do have this Academy 47D, checkerboard cowling but cool side markings?:

Which one is "dressed" appropriately for this campaign?

It IS an official campaign, and has been approved.
LINK TO CAMPAIGN PAGE
All campaigns on the Aeroscale have to have 10 members before they are approved.

The only rule of the campaign is "No Olive Drab/Neutral Grey paint schemes", so that excludes Klibbes aircraft. While the 78th FG green/sky scheme is technically allowed, the idea behind the campaign is to go for as colourfull schemes as possible.

Anyway, I have a 1/72 Revell Thunderbolt - I will make it very colourful!

Ok, I forgot I had the old Monogram P47D with a decal sheet including "jaywalking molecule" (!!??) markings and red stripes on NMF: (top one)

This is the "dressiest" kit/decal combo I could find.... good enough?

My Entry will be the Tamiya 1/48 "Prop Action" Kit and I'll be using the now OOP PYN-Up decals for the Mount of Lt. Henry Mohr P-47D-28-RA Serial 229150 "Dottie Mae".

Looks like I'll be visiting the restoration website even more regularly now

It not too late to join as the campaign doesn't start until the 1st April. the Campaign wont show up on Aeroscales Campaign page as the P-47 campaign is run over on P-47 Heaven

I've just signed up for this. I have Revell's 1/72 P47D30 in my stash and will do that unlessI can get hold of the P47M, also by Revell. If anyone knows anywhere in the UK that has the P47M in stock, please let me know (pm)!

thanks
Mike
