I hope to be posting some pictures here as I go along in a few campaigns that I have recently joined. Being new to KitMaker, I want to get this right. So, to post a photo I do bracket [img] ? But now it's asking for the url for my picture....which is in my computer...not on the web. Now what?

Hi Bruce and welcome to the forum!
Coming to your question: you have to upload your pics on the web so that you get an url address.
I opened an account on photobucket.com which is free and easy to use .
here is an example of a picture of mine...
hope this helps!
ciao
Edo

I couldn't get photobucket to upload on my computer, probably too much use of the bandwidth today, so I regestered on Flickr and uploaded a picture of one of my Mustangs. I hope I get this right

I don't use Flickr, but I thinkg I know what the problem is. It looks like you got page URLs instead of the picture's.
On Firefox, right-click on the pic you want to post, then select "copy image location". Now put that address between the IMG brackets and the pic should be displayed properly.
Here's the address you placed in the IMG tags in your last post: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bdanie6/4442697637/in/set-72157623520520013/
Try entering that to your browser's address line and see how it goes to that picture's page. The IMG tags won't work because the link doesn't point to the picture, but to a page containing the picture.
(Edit: or just click on it. Looks like the link behaviour on the forum has been fixed)
Here's the address of the photo: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4011/4442697637_b478cfdabf.jpg
That doesn't lead to the page, but directly to the picture.
Here's that same address inside IMG brackets:
I hope this helps.

Looks like you got the medium-sized thumbnail version of it, such as the ones found on the main page of your account. You probably copied the image location from there?
You need to go to the image's "home page", where it shows the larger version.
Clicking on the "all-sizes" button above the upper-left corner of the photo lets you view different sized version of the pic: --click--

Thank you Eetu, you must think me a bit thick by now, but I believe I understand this thing now. Thanks again.
