Hi Murdo. I've fixed a similar problem with Testor's Clear Parts Cement. It dries quite hard and perfectly clear. You will still see a line along the break, but at least it will be in one piece again.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, D

Thanks Damien. I should have been a bit more specific.
I was planning on putting the parts on Blue Tack to hold them in place at the correct angle and touching a tiny wee smidgeon of Tamiya Extra Thin Cement to the end of the crack. This should pull the cement down the join without going on the canopy "face".
The break line will always show up though? No way to polish it out?

Hi Murdo
I should drop a line to Revell explaining the accident - they're normally pretty understanding in cases like this and may well send a replacement.
All the best

Hi again
Be very careful using cement on the canopy - you could easily fog it. No, the break will show, no matter how much you polish it.

I had the same kind of issue with one of my canopies, and Revell is very understanding. The problem is that if the kit is no longer in production ( like my AV-8B ) they can't help you, and I would recommend calling them, because I waited for nearly 2 weeks on a reply to my online inquiries. Good luck!
